Waiting
The feeling is getting stronger
As my heart begins to pound
This need, this want to be beside you
 Isn’t winding down
I want to feel you here
Feel you breathe against my skin
Touch your hair between my fingers
And feel your tongue beneath my chin
 I want that tickling sensation
That comes when you speak my name
 And that drowning intoxication
Of your lips against my lips
 Of your hand in mine
 I want this aching need
 To simply fade away
I want you here beside me
Our toes touching as we lay
 Fingers intertwined in the grass
The pink sky slowly turning blue
And the glorious sound of one heart
 That is really two
 I ache for you
 I need you
 But you don’t even know
 You’re not here yet
 But someday you will
 And I’ll be waiting
