Given
Sunrise shows her scars to you
The window ceases all hopes
For lying in the shadows
She could hide in your arms forever
But everything ends
Your sweet face transforms a smile to greet her waning one
When you realize she is awake
She ducks her head back under
Your warm arms
As a scared rabbit
You
Kiss her forehead
Whisper a greeting
She knows she must show herself now, but
She tightens her arms around you
But
Too late
You're moving, climbing, away
Gone,
Then back, to see her clearly,
And she is open, reluctantly,
And not so wrenchingly,
Yours
