The Light of Night
The light of night
bears us open
flaws unbroken
words unspoken.
Carelessly naked,
there's no going back
we see what we are
we see what we lack.
But little it matters out in the night,
for out in the night,
nothing's kindled by sight.
Our canvasses are illuminated,
concentrated,
by the moon.
But dearest, don't fearest;
the dark of day comes soon.
