She hides behind many a book

She hides behind many a book
and spills her soul unto this page
the reflection gives a puzzeled look
and thoughts are blossomed in a lilac cage
hardened wax covers anything flat
and five dollar scents carefully grow
steady notes fill her mind with this and that
and these days everyones a foe
ideas race a mile a minute
and she nervously attempts amends
the storm slows with compassion in it
and she hopes the confusion ends.
