Darkness fills the moonless night.
What terrors lurk beyond the light?
Clouds mask the stars and heighten fright,
On this dark and moonless night

The glow lies just beyond our sight,
Where others rest, safe in the light.
Why does the dark awaken fright?
I rather like the moonless night.

Don't get me wrong, I enjoy moonlight,
But dark can be a pleasant sight.
The eyes see clearly in the light,
But the heart sees better on the monnless night.

Darkness fills the moonless night.
Terror is an illusion caused by the light.
The stars still shine, unseen, yet bright,
