Unsteady
As she sits
With her knees wrapped tightly in her arms
She begins to rock
Back and forth
Like a nervous habit
Unsteady.
She stares at him
With a look of despair
An undiscovered question
Buried deep inside
She can’t seem to say a word
She wouldn’t dare ask why
Who says he won’t do it again?
He is Calm
Starring at her
With his hand raised above the frail woman,
Who lies on the ground.
She begins to hum
Trying to forget what happened a moment ago
Before she began to rock
Back and forth
Like a nervous habit
Unsteady.
