Pour Out the Wounds
I never wanted to give up
If you had just tried
If I had just pushed
But I was so worried of your thoughts
Too worried about what you thought about me
While you were worried about them
What they thought of you
Of me
And now we’ll never be
Of course you tried for me
Of course you didn’t try hard enough
I could have pushed it
But too many thoughts stopped me
Was it trying too hard?
Should I wait until you said something?
But that something turned into nothing
Week after week
And so I gave up totally
I stopped trying
I stopped caring
And we ended up with this mess
Should you have tried
Should they have not mattered
Would we be here right now?
Would I love you more than ever now?
If I had known you, I could have loved you
But you gave up on me
So I gave up on you.
