Tone-Deaf
I’ve been deaf to your requests.
I’ve been lame to your demands.
I’ve been blind to your messages.
When you start to plead,
I go into hiding.
I couldn’t hear when you yelled in my ear.
I wouldn’t move as much as you pushed me.
I couldn’t see when you looked into my eyes.
If I gave you the truth,
I’d be damaged even more.
I don’t hear any good reasons.
I can’t feel the love.
I still don’t see a connection between us.
You sing of friendship.
Belt it out so strong.
Sorry, I can’t sing along.
When it comes to that,
I’m tone-deaf.
