Envy is an Evil Thing
A spark of envy slips into my heart, 
 From this jealousy I cannot part. 
 Images of things I'm yearning for, 
 Lashing winds fans it ever more. 
 Anger licks the spark to a flame, 
 The stream of contentment is where I aim. 
 If only this wishing would be calmed, 
 The fire in my heart would be gone. 
 To want, to need, and to pine, 
 Stifle I cannot, this longing of mine. 
 Until I think of you, my friend, 
 With the waters of our bond, the blaze does end. 
 Washing over my heart's deep ache, 
 A dying ember in a tranquil lake.
