One, two, three
the band starts up
lights dim
candles glow
my favorite song begins
the crowd is filled with teens
many are drunk
one decides they're fine
and takes a child's life
driving home at dawn
an idiot runs a light
the child was that of nine
too bad that teen chose
to drink instead of hitch a ride
