Tradition
I am from porcelain and tea
And the land of opportunities
The remnants of a culture buried
In the luxury of America
Unable to pull itself out
I am a beloved dolphin confined at the zoo,
Afraid to penetrate the unfathomable sea,
Allured by its magnitude and mystery
A dandelion, stubborn and undaunted
Striving to overcome all adversity
A rainbow, shy and quiet
But vivid with possibilities all the same
A blank canvas, full of promises
Waiting for the artist’s exquisite brush
To transform it into a masterpiece
I am the past, present, and future
Locked inside a box of life
Forever waiting to be released
I am Asian Tradition.
