Asylum
You know, when we were on the balcony
We thousands of bright white dots
Waiting to be connected to create a picture
 I never smiled
 Even though you did
I guess I stayed in darkness too long
What will I have to do
In order to see and feel the warmth
 Of light?
You should have told me to look down
 At the calm ocean
Maybe then I would've seen of what
 I have become
Maybe we wouldn't be in this mess
 Darkness is the asylum
My head and heart is jammed with thousands of thoughts
 That I don't want
My back hits the brick wall
 I want to get out
 I want to stop crying
 I hear a song
A dove flies in from a window
 Onto my lap
 She speaks
 "There is hope"
 Light shines through the rain
 I tilt my head back
With a smile on my face
 What a beautiful song
