We are all human.

We are all human.
Or are we?
No matter what other people think.
Can they think?
Or what other people say.
Or think they say as they
pretend to be heard.
We are all the same
on the outside.
But what about the IN?
We have our
S
P
U
and then we go
D
O
W
N
We all go in

S
C
E

I
L

R

C
But are we going?
Or are we pretending that a raise
or our boss’s praise
will make us happier?
Or do we try to make sense of it all
by the size of our house
or the age of our car.
Maybe I’m different,
Call me crazy for
saying it’s different for me.
You see, I will see.
I will speak.
I will be me.
Breaking the routine,
the killer circles,
ups and downs.
Are you like me?
Can you see yourself as
YOU?
Or are you stuck in a corporate stew
of fake congressmen and women
or the blue collars of the world.
Forcing you in circles,
ups and downs.
Offering company cars
fresh off the belt.
Corvettes, Beamers
materialistic happiness
that all have a limit.
Bribery in the flesh.
Metallic flesh
black as death
or burning red.
Speed,
the rush
of our hearts,
or the holes where they use to be.
Our meaningless existence
is no longer existence at all.
We are running our system,
running because that’s all we know.
We have forgotten.
Forgotten what we were,
what I am.
What am I?
Nobody knows
because I am myself.
I am different.
