Speaking of Love
Oh, how I wish to love,
And not to sit and loathe.
Sipping some cold lemonade,
Hearing them say “That’s legit.”
Everyone is so happy,
Back then, I could have.
Writing poems to the one,
While sitting in wonder.
Swaying to the lovely beat,
Knowing we could never be.
Oh, how I wish to love,
And not to sit and loathe.
Like looking at shoes,
During a fashion show.
People holding others hands,
How easy it is to hate.
Creepy signals in the air,
Needing something for their aim.
Maybe we shall be free,
To become good friends.
Oh, how I wish to love,
And not to sit and loathe.
Who would ever try to see?
The only one I try to seek.
People speaking loud and clear,
Feeling like it’s never clouded.
Tired of the fear and shame,
Knowing not what I should.
He will never be by my side,
I guess all I can do is sigh.
Oh, how I wish to love,
And not to sit and loathe.
