The Past Is Just That
Maybe for once I should let someone in,
REALLY let someone in.
He already knows more about me
than anyone else.
He takes my insecurities
and holds them in his hands
with the most accepting attitude I have ever seen.
It doesn't scare him,
like it did the rest.
He loves each flaw as much as he loves me.
So from now on,
the past doesn't matter.
I don't care if he's ever been in love,
and I don't care about all the beds he's been in.
All that matters is right now,
and right now it's just us.
