Soldier Life
Under the helmet and all the armour
Is a young boy, frightened, going insane
No idea of what will unfold
Where he’ll be, how he’ll be, if he’ll be
War is hell, and an understatement.
You wouldn’t know unless you’re there
You see pictures, read articles,
Talk to family members and friends.
But how would you understand
From being here, when they’re out there?
The pictures don’t tell it all,
People don’t speak the truth,
And the government will only lie.
Unless you’re there in the world of hell
You have no idea of what it’s like
Stand up for something like they are
Freedom, for me, and you.
