ORANGE
Sunrise, it’s a new day
Wake up to see the warm sun
Shining through your window
No one knows
I do.
I can feel it.
A single orange sits on the table unnoticed
The bright barn doors are sealed shut
Never to be opened again
The fire crackles and moans
You hear the fire trucks speeding down the neglected streets
Bright, crisp, fall leaves cover the misty morning floor
As I walk away, unable to help, crunching each and every leaf
I taste the salt of my tears that come uncontrollable
Rolling down my face
