I walk through a forest
I walk through a forest
Of heartbreak
Knowing the path
The way
Without a compass
Or map
It’s written
Burned in my flesh
All the words
The future we planned
Erased
In a single heartbeat
Ironic
We never spoke
Of anger
Or anguish
But it’s those words
We remained faithful to
Those sweet nothings
Sounded nice
But it’s the silence
That spoke
Louder than any
I love you
You broke my heart
You broke my soul
You broke me
Left me alone
In these crying woods
Now if only I could hear silence
These woods speak to me
Weeping for me
Whispering
“I love you”
“I’ll never leave you”
Uttering lies
Feeding me
Regret
Like a waitress
Every sentence
Stealing life from me
Sucking it out of me
Like venom
The snake’s teeth
Like stake’s
Through my heart
As I drag myself
Through this forest
I grow weak
Powerless
