I, Youth, Am Silenced Since My Birth

I, Youth, am silenced since my birth.
I have been told many things by those
wishing they were I. Yet such things
are not to be said by Youth.
I, Youth, am hindered by the Status quo.
The uphill battle I am born upon,
I struggle to make myself known.
They who are born at ease let me know
my words could not shake armies.
Yet my needs are no greater than theirs.
I, Youth, am one day to assume their duties.
And I, Youth, can effect change.
