As I Sit Watching
As I sit watching
I see her joy
The joy I once gave her
As I sit watching
I see the twinkle in her eye
The twinkle I haven’t seen in years
As I sit watching
I see her tears
Her tears of happiness
As I sit watching
I know I must let go
Let go of my girl
As I sit watching
I see her dancing
Dancing in arms that aren’t mine
As I sit watching
I wish I would have said no
No to losing her
As I sit watching
I want her to be happy
Happy no matter what
As I sit watching
I see them drive away
Drive off into the unknown
As I sit watching
I see her love
Love that once, was only mine
As I sit watching
I see the years fly
Where have the years gone?
As I sit watching
I see her tears
Tears of pain
As I sit watching
I see her bruises
Bruises he gave her
As I sit watching
I see her running
running back to me
As I sit watching
I see his fear
Fear of me coming
As I sit watching
I see bars
The bars of prison
As I sit watching
I realize . . .
The love of a father is unconditional
As I sit praying
I pray . . .
The Lord will forgive me for what I’ve done
