Just a Friend
It wasn’t love at first sight
I fell ever so slowly for you
Too shy to let you know,
 Building up my courage
 I kept quiet.
Soon I realize as I was falling for you,
 You were falling for her.
 I smile
 Tell you she’s great
All awhile thinking how perfect you and I would be
Don’t you know how I feel?
 But it’s alright
 I’ll be fine
I’ll listen as you tell the whole world how lucky you are
To have a girl like her
I’ll laugh when you tell me about something funny she said or did
I’ll even smile when you kiss her
I won’t cry when you tell her “I love you”
I’ll move on, maybe even find love,
 Waiting for you
 And maybe
 Just maybe
One day you’ll see me as more
 Than
 Just a friend
