I love the City
where the sky is always gray
where the pigeons fly and seagulls squawk,
a job they do each day.
I love the City
and the cablecars that ring
and streets that stretch across the hills,
the flowers in the spring.
I love the City
where the park is always green
where people walk around in two’s
as children scrape their knees.
I love the City
and the gentle ocean spray
and the red bridge stretched like ribbon to
The City by the Bay.
