My Place
This life is moving,
Spinning a little too fast,
Years come and go,
Sixteen already passed.
Practice and work,
Take over ribbons and curls,
Mom, please don't cry,
I'm still you baby girl.
And Daddy don't forget,
When I'd sit upon your lap,
You'd tickle me and smile,
And give me your baseball cap.
When I leave the nest,
To go out in the world,
Know those times aren't gone,
I'm still your little girl.
I love you with all my heart,
You two can't be replaced,
But with your shield surrounding me,
I'll never find my place.
