Wasting Away
wasting away inside her skin
fragile bones of youth
flashes of film make her jealous
she doesnt know its killing her heart
she wouldnt care even if she did
she looks in the mirror and it screams back at her
six years of hurt
six years of pain
no one can undo what theyve done
she wishes they would take back what they said
but nothing changes
shes stares at herself and doesnt understand why she cant be perfect
the desire wastes her away til shes nothing
a week in the hospital
a month in a clinic
all the effort doesnt erase the six years
her heart is broken and damaged
she wont live past fifty
she wouldnt care even if she knew
its the perfection that kills her
the struggle she lives with
no one can take it back
but they did this to her
