Final Request
Final Request
I lean against your shoulder,
My eyes they fill with tears,
Not wanting to say this good-bye,
After all these loving years.
A single word is spoken,
As you close your eyes,
I know for many days to come,
All I’ll ever do is cry.
I’ll still have all the memories,
You’ll live on in my heart,
But now all that I want is time,
And for us not to have to part.
So many wasted moments,
Your final wish I heard,
All I could say was “I love you”,
Because “good-bye” is the saddest word.
