The Dividing Line
The ivory shades of summer flee across the open depths of blue;
skidding and bounding through aggressive mysteries beneath.
Descending, reaching a division of water and sand.
Tepid water topples over my toes as I wade to shore.
Weathered feet crunch across tiny little wonders;
circular shapes – jagged, grainy and small.
Wonders of the world so deep
read by the superficial world above.
Youth, listen within;
hear the hymns of an unknown
