Forever Bound...
Forever bound with mighty chains of glass,
I hide my soul from who I have become.
Staring back from the mirror, bold as brass
Do I see towards what I’ve grown so numb:
A smiling countenance, a lying face
Presenting to the world a mask of cheer.
But now my former self seems out of place;
My abandoned disguise, so insincere
And as the reflecting shards fall shattered,
The hateful face in the mirror disappears
Leaving my body both bruised and battered,
Finally freeing crimson, bloody tears.
Yet now I dwell far from my former pains,
There’re no flowers on my grave, only chains.
