Stay awake
I can hardly stand the wait
Eyes wide open at first
Drifting from corner to corner
Slowly closing
As the pressure increases
Lights flashing all around me
Penetrating my eye lids
I squint in pain
Disoriented
Waiting for that moment
Am I dreaming?
Or is this reality?
I can’t tell anymore
All I can do is stay
How can I kill time?
I can feel my head pounding
Is that blood?
My breathing thickens, sweat everywhere
….And then suddenly,
I am lying still.
