I Promise Not to Hurt You
I promise not to hurt you,
I promise not to lie.
I will always be there,
For comfort when you cry.
I’ll keep you first and foremost,
Always in my heart.
When we are together,
When we are apart.
Yours I’ll always be,
Because my heart belongs to you.
When my heart was broken,
You mended it to new.
I love you. I love you. I love you.
I guess you see it’s true.
I just hope you really mean it,
When you say it, too.
I would cross the oceans,
Just to see you smile.
But in my heart it would seem,
Like I only ran a mile.
I would do whatever it takes,
To see that you are happy.
And as this has to end,
This poem is really sappy.
