Cheeks Pink
Cheeks pink as cherry blossoms
She delicately stumbles and collapses
Like a newborn lamb learning to walk
Her laugh is sweet
Like the song of a mockingbird
And light from the window
Cascades upon her halo
She spots me
And her smile lights up
Like a lantern in the fragile dark
She clasps my hand
And looks into my eyes
I can see them dancing
Like fireflies in theevening
She flings her hands in the air
Reaches for the sky
She reaches to grasp the sun
As if her arms were branches
That are just almost long enough
