The Moon
The moon looks down upon me
At night it is just he and I
So tender the melody he plays
I stand and stare and sigh
He sometimes plays a game with me
Where he hides behind the trees
And when he peeks round the other side
I fall laughing to my knees
I talk to him, he talks to me
And tells me endless tales
Of all the wondrous sights he's seen
Of seas and ships and sails
The moon comes down to visit me
And stays with me till dawn
But when the sun lifts up her head
He sings a farewell song
The eve is fairer than the day
And midnight brighter than noon
The world may love the golden sun
But I adore the moon
