Night
The shadows consume me.
Night is so silent,
yet so deafening
The clock’s hands unmoving.
How much time has
slipped from our grasp?
How can we tell?
By the number of times I shiver,
or the number of times you scream?
How do we escape?
From this eternity of waiting,
but what are we waiting for?
For the last thread to be cut
or the pain
to finally subside?
Yet the lonely night creeps on,
Will this darkness ever cease?
Will this nightmare ever end?
