His Words
Hammering, hammering
His words; they were fire
Stronger, more piercing,
This was not my desire
His words; they were slaying
My heart, without pity
I was numb, I was wanting
A little more than apology
Biting, now stinging
His words, like a knife,
Cut through me, without feeling
How I wish we’d end this strife
But now, I see him
His heart, sympathetic
Had it been a bad dream?
My hurts were now mended
His words; they did come
But this time, a different way
They were, like a summer sun
Shining down, on that winter day
