The Prison
Trapped,
In the cold dark cave
Of myself
With only a dim glow coming from nowhere,
As there are no doors or windows in this prison.
The dark, featureless rock staring back at me,
And water dripping from the ceiling.
Drip, Drip, Drip, Drip, Drip, Drip…
Going crazy,
From that noise,
That you just can’t stop.
Surviving, somehow,
With no food, the dripping water unattainable,
But this prison is forever.
The wish to die,
Will never come true
For this prison is forever.
But to imagine,
Being free,
And to dream,
Of being free,
And able to see the sky,
And to be absorbed,
Into the music.
