The Wonder of Rain
Rain patters down to earth.
The air smells of fresh, spring rain.
As I stare up at the gray clouds,
I think of no worry, think of no pain.
The worldly things vanish,
And dreams come alive
Drops fall on my face;
One, two, three, four, five.
The tap, tap, tap of the sprinkling of rain
Lulls me quickly to sleep.
Puddles from on the now shiny roads,
Reminding me of memories to keep.
Rain streams down the sidewalks,
Puts dew on the grass.
I watch the birds dance in the water
Through wet glass.
I smile to think,
How lucky am I!
To experience life
And what falls from the sky.
