Yellow
The world is dark.
Then suddenly, quick,
A bright yellow flash.
Fleeting, but illuminating the sky, the world.
A spark of electricity making things visible.
A gift from the darkness to expose life once again.
Like a shimmering star from the sky
Or a shining piece of the sun
Crash landing to the earth.
A lucid moment of joy in a dark hour.
Setting the world ablaze if only for an instant.
And then,
Darkness.
