Where I'm From
I am from weekends at my grandma’s
From the tall tree in her front yard
I am from late nights watching movies with my cousin and sister
Repeatedly sneaking downstairs for popcorn
I am from the screaming fans at the
All-American Rejects concert.
I’m from sizzling meat on the barbecue
Laughter and music fill the backyard.
I’m from the daily bickering
Between my siblings and I.
I’m from all the books at Christmas time and birthdays
From feeling the urge to quickly zip through them
And be taken into a world of magical wizards, and strong friendships.
