I smell it in the brighter days;
Taste it in the summer haze;
I hear it in a child’s sweet laughter
And watch it make a man feel like a master


This emotion is the sweetest perfume;
It’s what makes all the flowers bloom;
It’s why I hear my mother sing,
And makes a child giggle when they’re on a swing


It really is a wonderful feeling,
That helps with all the tough dealings,
Of things that are not worth the pain
And make one want to cry like the rain











But it’s quite a simple thing, you see,
Can happen to anyone, you or me,
But the way it can warm one’s heart and soul
Makes them feel like a whole


And when people are rejoicing everywhere
And love is filled in the air
The feeling there- I’m sure one can guess-,
Is a simple thing called happiness
