These Dehydrated Days
Love is a desert at times with no rain.
It burns all who venture out into the plains.
Where's my oasis you promised before?
'All in due time', but I still see no shore.
No distant mirages, not one for me.
Locked in this desolate place with no key.
I can't shake the feeling I've had these days.
One drop would surely cure thirst from his rays.
The water I need to survive is lost,
searching takes time, I can't afford the cost.
I found shade in his arms, cool breezes had come.
Sandstorms took sweet memories, and I've come undone.
This place I call life, could use a good rain,
to cool down this heat, this desert-like pain.
