Alone
Alone.
I'm afraid--
afraid of the unknown--
and your nowhere in sight
not around me.
Reach out,
and there's air.
Call,
and silence reflects the loneliness of my heart
I sit,
unmoving
alone in the dark.
Whispers of what I've done--
or haven't done--
spread across my body.
I shake.
I'm alone now
and your not with me--
not by my side
Forever it seems
Who is going to protect me from the creatures?
The harmful beings that lurk in the shadows?
I rely on you,
But you're nowhere.
Have they got you?
I hope not.
Because you'll never come back if they do--
they'll make you forget--
hate,
despise--
the love that is us.
I make a wish in the darkness,
Hoping you'll return
soon.
But for the moment,
I'm alone.
