As the Days Go On
As the days go on
In this simple, little town
People move on, out and beyond.
When the top dogs leave,
Someone must take their crown,
It is the boy that believes,
The future holds his keys,
To the doors that unlock,
An unlimited stock
of dreams, and golden trees.
But then there is the flock,
The children who do not
Think past the clock
They do not act,
They only react.
They need a king,
the one to show them the ropes,
The one to sing,
the song of their hopes
for the future.
