Ode To A Boy
The temperature drops
another degree,
and I feel
as if I might freeze.
As I think about
those sunny days,
I see in my mind,
a beautiful gaze.
A handsome boy
with bright blonde hair,
I found it hard
not to stare.
As if i thought
I'd really care,
to him I thought
it would just be fare.
The life I thought
for sure I'd see,
now I know
could never be.
So if you leave me
in the dark,
I'll sit on the bench
in the park.
And think of how my life
had been,
before I held
my hand out
for him.
