Spring Afresh
The new season has arrived
No more waiting for winter to pass
The scent of flowers fills the air
There is a reemergence of the fresh green grass
And along with all the sensations
That spring may bring along
There can not be one greater
Than the baseball season’s throng
Plants and trees can fill out
And birds can reappear
But spring cannot start afresh
Until America’s Pastime is in gear
Even if the winter winds ended early
And if the snow melted prematurely
Spring still has not officially begun
Until the baseball fields are gilded by the sun
