The Cold Hits my Skin
The cold hits my skin.
Chills flow through me,
Looking to the sky.
A tear falls to my cheek.
“Why do you weep?”
I whisper to the sky.
She responds with
A scream of rage.
Her scream shakes me
And I yell back.
The darkness opens
A trail of light from her smile.
She just wanted
Someone to listen.
Someone to challenge her;
To care.
