Broken Mind

A voice whispers in her ear,
She listens to his words,
"The world is yours!"
People dance all around,
The sun smiles down upon her,
The world is at her feet,
But only for a minute,
Does the illusion stay,
As she returns to reality,
Once again faced with truth,
She hides behind the lie,
Searching for an escape,
To leave the truth behind,
And to live the lie,
To hear that voice again,
She lays to rest,
Eyes closed,
Her mind departing,
Slipping into a world of deceit,
She is at peace once more.
