Today's Tomorrow
Life starts in a cradle:
calm,
smooth,
orderly.
The music resonated from
the tarnished music box;
distant.
The teddy bear
choked by hugs.
Every today has a tomorrow.
The possessions we didn't forget-
replaced.
The antique cradle
now
the neoteric bed.
The faded music box
now
a contemporary radio.
The worn teddy bear
now
a reticent husband.
At one point
nothin matters.
It ends.
