Never Alone
Stand alone on a dark street corner.
You got no job and weather gets colder.
Ask for money, but their greed is stronger.
How long will you survive?
Three weeks later, you’re still out there,
When a man comes by in a clean green sweater.
He stops on your corner and glances your way,
Tosses his sweater and goes on his way.
Two years later, your walking down the street,
When you see a man begging at your feet.
You stop and think about those days at the corner
And you give that man a great green dollar.
