When I Was Young
When I was young
Many years ago
I dreamed of something
That I could not with anyone show.
I wanted to dance
And this embarrassed me;
Maybe this is because
All my life I was told I could never be.
Ballet, tap, jazz, I did it all,
And I knew I was gifted afterward
So on did I persue this dream of dreams I dreamt,
And then I came closer to the dream I had gone toward
So here I am
Thirty years later
And I'm still dancing
Well, what could ever be better?
