They glide over Brown Mountain. Appearing, and then disappearing in one place. Reappearing in another. Dancing an eerie dance that fills the night sky with beauty. What are those lights? What could they be? Some people say swamp gases. But in the mountains? Some people say reflected headlights. But they've been there since native times. Some people say they’re evidence of a lost Cherokee warrior’s soul searching for his way home. Some say they’re wives of Native Americans searching for their husbands that were lost in a great war. Some even say they’re the divided spirit of a caring wife and soon to be mother that was murdered, looking for redemption. But ghosts don’t exist, right? Nobody really knows what they are. But in the mountains of North Carolina, they are known, as the infamous Brown Mountain Lights.
