sunshine
She threw the small ball
In the air
She threw it high
Before it could fall
She chased after it
And crawled
Her bright light rays
Warming the earth
Her radiant smile
Coloring the rainbow
She is my sunshine
Planting the buds of spring
Seeds of her flower
Scatter everywhere thriving
Thriving so the birds can sing
To the melody
Of her laughter
She is my sunshine
She is a butterfly
Flying high
Spreading her graceful wings
To fly
To bring grace and joy
To brighten up my life
Until she grasped
Her mother’s hand
And disappeared
Down the steps
A tear in my eye
And I smiled
Then I cried.
